To our friends in the Flute Arts community, I want to share with you some thoughts on how to move through this season in which playing and teaching activities have slowed significantly.
We are fully aware that finding safe opportunities to share our gifts of music with those around us, are limited, yet we are also aware that so many of you know that the time is coming when those opportunities will open again, so you continue to practice, share videos on social media, exchange teaching tips and even teach using real-time video-conferencing apps. We are proud of the way the arts community is rising to the challenges that face us, especially the flute community.
At Flute Arts, of course, our main goal is, as it has always been, that your instruments work to the satisfaction of our clients. This is not just an aesthetic need, but also a requirement for the long-term health of the instruments and the players. When instruments go out of adjustment, we compensate in ways that can lead to development of poor habits and possibly even injury. We would hate to see that happen unnecessarily.
Knowing that arts dollars are tight these days, we want to offer our services at a discounted rate for the remainder of the year. While overhauls will remain at the same rate (see
www.flutearts.com) due to the significant time and material investment involved, we will be discounting rates for both COA’s and service work, adjustments and such, at the same time freezing the price of parts, again, for the remainder of the year. Please note that these prices do not reflect shipping, for which our policies will remain the same. The pricing for these services will be as follows:
- COAs (as described on our webpage) – $250 plus any additional parts and extra time
- Service work – $100 per hour
We truly hope this helps our clients maintain proper care of their instruments in these leaner times. As always, we will take great care to follow sanitary practices both as we receive instruments and as we send them out.
It has always been our pleasure to work with such a wonderful group of artists such as yourselves. Thank you for allowing us to serve you as we move through this time together.
